Let's raise a toast to the one's who went and served and especially to the ones who lost limbs or never came home alive.:beer::beer::beer::icon_cheers::icon_cheers::icon_cheers::icon_cheers:

In Nam, we designated the "shortest" person as the beneficiary of our military life insurance policies.....then, if we made it home alive, we transferred the policy to our parents or wife.

the idea was....our friend who got shipped home alive would receive a big $10,000 surprize if one of us got killed in combat---- back in the day $10,000 would buy a convertible Mustang with enough left over to live on for a year at the beach!.....

ahhhhhhhhhhhhh......................those were the days!!!!!

Wouldn't you want to either shoot the new guy or make him look for landmines or something?

i believe shortest in this case would be a conscript with 3 months LEFT TO GO verse one with 10.

Yes, 'shortest' is what we called Short Timers in the Navy....somebody getting ready to retire or get out of the Navy. Sometime their attitudes would really suck. They refused to pull extra duty or relieve somebody on watch...and then we had those blanket parties....throw a blanket over somebody and we all take a few swings on the idiot and they never see who smacked them around....lol

In combat...........everyone who is American....or our ally........is on the same team.......

What you REALLY want to do is...........................

Kill The Enemy, Rookie!!!!!
