Planning to buy a trailer, need help
I'm looking at getting an enclosed trailer for my motorcycle and have pretty much decided what size I want. I need at least 10ft trailer and am leaning towards a 6x10. Preferably a V-nose with a ramp and a side door that has camper style latch. It also needs to have a fold out ramp extension, stabilizer jacks, tie downs in the floor, roof vent, a ceiling light, and aluminum mod wheels would be nice. I'm sure I can think of some other items but this is what I can call off the top of my head. I would like to build a removable fold down bed for one wall, and possibly install an AC so I can use it as a trailer/camper on trips.
Duties this trailer will serve will be lockable motorcycle storage/trailer, camper, moving furnature, and anything else that calls for an enclosed trailer. It will almost always be pulled by my 99 Ranger so I doubt that overloading will be an issue (pretty sure it's maximum capacity would be more than I want to pull, or try to stop).
I've found that I have two options. First, Buy a motorcycle trailer that has everything on it. Second, buy a standard V-nose trailer, save a couple hundred bucks, and add accessories myself. With either option I don't care if it's new or used as long as it's in good shape, though I haven't been able to find much used in the first option.
I like the first but am having trouble finding much in the size I want. The one that I have found and like is more than I want to pay. It's a 2009 Pace American Journey JT Rider in 6x10, I believe that the model number is JV610SA (or a JT610SA with V-nose option) and it has the JT Rider package installed. It comes with everything I want on it standard, as well as the diamond plate rockgard on front, polished aluminum trim down the sides, and a Dexter Torsion Axle which I've heard is supposed to be a really good setup. If I could convince the dealer to come down on his price a couple hundred bucks it woudl put the trailer in the price range I want after the $200 Pace American mail in rebate. Unfortunately I'm not a good negotiator so I need to go armed with as much information as I can get.
Now to the real question here. Can anyone provide me with a dealer cost and MSRP on this trailer? I can provide the location if it matters. I'm not wanting to get it for dealer cost, the dealer has to make a living to. I just want to have grounds to be able to try talking him down 2-3 hundred bucks. If I could get him to match the manufacturers rebate it would put the price a good bit closer to what I was prepared to spend.
