Are the Rangers stolen often? I always lock up my truck, but, should I be doing something more?

I would be crushed if something happened too it.

New ones like yours might but old ones are traded for six packs. Seriously though a joyrider will take anything they can start so depending on your area you may want extra security.

not to often stolen; as broken into, if it looks likes it got something that someone would want, also depends on region too i guess but not to often. if you google search top cars stolen you will see it is mostly cheap imports here is a list i found real quick
1. Toyota Camry
2. Honda Accord
3. Honda Civic
4. Oldsmobile Cutlass
5. Jeep Cherokee/Grand Cherokee
6. Chevrolet Full-Size C/K pickup
7. Toyota Corolla
8. Ford Taurus
9. Chevrolet Caprice
10. Ford F150 pickup

as for what you can do be like me if you can take it with you do it, i always take ipod, faceplate, and then cover anything else, i have a self and cover for my sub and amp that are actually going soon, to make room for cage/toolbox/jack/whatever else i decide will fit in the back, also as far as theft do a simple kill switch for the inertia switch or something else that kills a system that only you know about

Yeah, I have a nice deck, XM radio receiver, iPod, all that fancy stuff.

Small town, but, you never know.

I dont even lock my truck when I am parked on the college campus. But, I feel much more comfortable up north here where I am at school. When I go home I lock my truck at the mall and that is it. Granted, it helps to deter people when you have few straight body panels.

What!?!?!?! My campus has so many thieving a-holes I cannot imagine not locking my truck up. I always lock it up and hide my faceplate because drunk college students love breaking into shit.

Locks keep HONEST theives out.

Probably the best thing to do is to remove your antenna whip! A smart thief can use that to gain entrance to your truck, thru that hole under the handle.

oilpatch you stupid ass, why the hell would you post that in the open?...jim can you delte that, as that kinda endangers us all.its a fairly well known thing, but still....

here in san diego, ranger dont get stolen that often unless they are built up with high dollar parts.mostly they just get broken in to or high dollar parts ripped off.

biggest target down here seems to be jeep grands, wranglers, and the diesel truck's.....ford , chevy and dodge. I got 2 super dutys ripped off in about a 6 month perioud.

for alittle while even youtube had "how to's" on to rip off superduty in less than 5 min.
