Are Ford and Mazda doors the same size? (interchangeable?)

I had a gas station cement pole jump out and hit my passenger side door on my Mazda B2500...Ok, well actually I took the turn too sharp
and ran into the cement pole but... ouch
I can get a new stripped, but primed door Ford Ranger door for like around $250 but will it fit the Mazda?

Will it fit? Yes. Will the body lines match? I’m not sure. I know some of the sheetmetal on the Mazdas were stamped differently but I don’t know if it is just limited to the bed or other things as well.

Do a search on both trucks and look at the images to answer that question before you buy.

They are mechanically identical trucks but as sarge pointed out the body lines and trim are slightly different. The fords lack the slight groove or whatever you call it on the upper fender, door, and bed so while the door will fit, it wont look quite right.

Edit: brains still fuzzy i guess, the fords do have that groove. The fenders and bed have different "accents" but the doors do look identical on the reg cab trucks.

I think you'll be good with the Ranger door. Everything else is different.

There's a Ranger in town that has a color matched B series box on it... complete with the Mazda style tail lights and everything. I'm probably the only one who notices it.

Thanks, I'll have to reply back after the replacement & repaint. Looking at the catalog, it's hard to tell with just an image. I'll look back for more replies to verify.

Is it a Ranger with B series box? Or a Factory STX?? '05-07 Ranger STX has the B series box standard. (I figure it was Ford's way of getting value out of tooling).

Doors are identical.

The hinges and latch will have to be adjusted of course and in my case I had to reef (manually bend with glass down) the upper part and they dialed right in. I put a 4x4 between the door and cab and pushed from the outside being careful not to over due it. Cheers VET

UPDATE: Oct. 9, 2019: While searching for interchangeability for different year models I was informed that doors off Rangers from '94-2002 will fit each other and also fit Mazda '95-2002.
There's a number of "You pull part...you pay" salvage yards in the central Florida area. I'll be making some trips soon to hopefully get a door that matches and maybe get lucky and get the
same color. If not, looks like I will by adapting my inner door parts, lock and glass onto the new (used) door and doing a paint job.

UPDATE: Oct. 20, 2019: I forgot what an interesting place the junk yard is. Crazy shade-tree mechanics and money-savers (like me) asking if I have a certain wrench (they forgot) Then me asking everyone for a certain allen wrench (which I forgot<--Doh!) I found a door...but later discovered that the 1995 (Ford Ranger) door has a different designed inner panel than the 1999 Mazda (but the door shell itself would fit and is interchangeable from '94-2002, just not the inner panel.) It was suggested I swap out the inner glass and door components & trim to this donor door which was fine, but this 1995 used donor door had some dents (which factored into the estimates for fixing and re-painting and it was too high $$.) I ultimately went back to my favorite junk-yard and swapped the dented 1995 door for a 1996 door (with no dents) that had the same inner panel (and same color) as my 1999 Mazda. FYI, even though the door itself is interchangeable, the inner panel may not be (and good idea to match the door to your door whether it be an electric window door or manual window crank door.) All I need to do is strip down the donor door of all glass and trim and give the body-painter outfit the stripped door shell. They are to re-paint the used donor door and transfer all my original door components to the newly painted door and re-install the door for $600. I decided not to "blend" the door with the cab and fender and just get the door itself repainted. I hope it doesn't look too bad and not too mismatched. I'll update after the final job is done.

Update: Nov. 24, 2019: The donor door was stripped bare of all glass and innards and paneling etc. The stripped shell of a door was then brought over the a reputable body shop and repainted and not "blended" with the cab. The body shop that did it scanned the paint and matched it (as far as I can tell) exactly without blending. The donor shell/door did need a small ding and scuff repaired, but it was flawlessly painted.
The problem is the door has a huge gap at the window frame/upper door area. The lower section fits good though. I was informed by body shop that the frame-(where the hinges are?) need to be pulled out slightly and tweaked on the frame adjuster lift. Interesting to see that Lima Bean had same issue with upper door frame. Total cost to fix slight dents & repaint & time to transfer components from Mazda to Ford door: $660 and possibly more to $$ pay with the adjustment to get the gap out and time to get the door to fit. I still wonder if the Mazda door is slightly different than the Ford door. The mirror frame/housing overlapped a bit more as well...and considering another person had same issue with upper door/window frame part; makes me think the door is slightly different? See pic below of new door repainted and gap.

Update: Nov. 27, 2019: Since there was additional work to be done to fit the door it did cost $150 extra (hr.'s worth of work) to pull the door hinge frame out to fit the door. All good now, happy with fix.
