are aftermarket torsion keys good

You also have more offset than you did with the stock wheels. I think 4x4RangerGuy eluded to that with the stock ones it is a no go.

The offset remained the same, hence the 5 inch BS. The stock wheels are a 16x7, to keep the same offset (and to make the bearings and other front end parts happy), you need a 5 inch BS on a 16x8 wheel. The stock wheels are, IIRC, a +12mm offset, which is what my new wheels are. With the 265/75/16s, minimum width should be 7 inches. If you go to 33s, you're probably gonna need a wider rim.

krugford how wide are those tires on your truck

It moved the sidewalls inboard and outboard about a half an inch. The wheels are flush with the outside of the fender flares. IMO, it turned out just right. I'm extremely happy with the fit/look

well, mis information can be a bitch for people looking for advice, and if it seems like it gets under my skin when someone gives incorrect information, thats because it does....

u can call bs all u like, that simple fact is that people do it all the time.....

Yeah, and they are either running a lift or the tires are rubbing, running aftermarket wheels, or they are not REAL 33s.

Get a 98+ 4x4 Ranger and put 285/75/R16 BFGoodrich All Terrain tires under it with a 1.5"-2" torsion bar crank. They WILL rub on the inner fender skirt.

Just because you've seen someone do it doesn't mean they don't have issues with it. I attempted personally to put on 285/75/R16s on my 98 4x4 with a 1.5" torsion bar crank with the stock 16x7 wheels. They rubbed. Very noticeably. That is why I ended up going with 265/75/R16s, because they don't rub.

Sorry man! I am runnin those exact tires (which I hate, see post in wheels and tires sec) on my '04 ,stock rims (5 spoke), stock suspension (no lift), cranked T-bars.
No rubbing anywhere, at all! I'll get pics tomorrow in the light.

My truck is just a Sport model, not FX-4 or Level 1,2 or 3. Dont know if that makes a difference or not.

This might help a little:

With NO inner fenders and a 3" body lift, our 285/75R16s only rub in ONE place. We have a pretty extensive engine cage w/shock hoops and one of the vertical supports just happens to be in exactly the right place to just barely polish it with the tire at full lock. We don't have the bars cranked, but we do use heavier rate bars than stock. They are the bars from a 5.0 explorer. They don't net much lift, but the rate is higher. Here is the truck jumping for reference:
