My credo
If you can't go through it or around it, then go over it.
I went in to Walmart to buy toilet paper because I forgot to put it on my curbside order. I paid cash. I even forgot my phone in the car. When I went to check in for pickup there was a survey about my recent visit and the specific product it was asking about was my toilet paper…… how TF does it know I bought toilet paper when I paid cash?

You are avoiding the question........."how was your purchase of toilet paper?"

Cottonelle …. Can’t get better than that on a budget

Big Sam is watching you.

Facial recognition... that got that from China also.

Our devices are always listening and facial recognition has improved

But I left my phone in the car. I get that it can do that when I have my phone on me but I left it in the car and did self check out. How is it doing this?

Either facial recognition on Walmart’s side, or you said something around your phone about having to go in for TP?

I want a time machine so I can go back to when jobs were good and corporate spy craft wasn’t so easy….

Can't trust any store clerk, especially WalMart clerks, to pick out my purchases, ToiletPaper\TP or otherwise.
Using such services, along with just using a Credit\Debit card at checkout,
these stores & the Card companies certainly have you+family totally profiled &
can likely predict to the hour when+where+what your next purchase will be.

PS: Personal preference for TP is the "200Grit" cheap stuff, but wife throws a fit if I bring that into the house!

Cheaper, more organic and also works for firewood when used up (or you can wash and reuse)

Summit Racing puts out a pretty thick catalog. Worse comes to worse, can just use the local newspaper.

I suspect you used the same credit card for the online purchase and they saved it. I bought some stuff from Home Depot online once and they'd send me an email every time I used that card in the store.
The joke used to be that we had abrasive toilet paper at the dealership to punish us for taking a dump on company time. The dealer brought some home once because he didn't want to go to the store on the way home and his wife told him to never bring that stuff home again.
