i like em, but id rather have an older svt if i were to get another focus. either that or a wagon.

I have a 2004 Focus wagon for a company car. Very trouble-free for me, as is their reputation. I got it used with 32k on it, now has 81k. Only time it was back to the Ford dealer was for a tranny flush, which is called for every 30k. Had a problem with a loose bolt in the rear suspension that made the rear end wiggle on turns. Otherwise very trouble free and it goes like stink. I had cruise control added on because I was afraid of getting speeding tickets.

they aren't bad cars, the current generation seems much more refined than the previous. We have a few of the older style in the fleet, along with one of the newer ones (08) and they have all been trouble free mechanically. They seem to go well with the auto trans too.

one of the cool parts of owning the older one is that i could tell people i have hemi in my car, i just left out that it was a 2.0 spi hemi

My girlfriend has a '10 the same color and it's the same car. I like it a lot, it's quick and at 6'4" I have tons of room in it. It gets killer mileage too.

I Have an 01 ZX-3 and the GF has an 03. The 01 has had some weird issues. Pretty much everything on the consumer reports don't buy list. Nothing major, just little crap. The 03 has needed front brake rotors, an alternator and a belt. No problems other than those with 85K miles and she bought it new. They should have all the bugs worked out by now. The model was still new in 01.

Get the ZX-3. With the hatch back and seats down, it just like a little truck. You can haul lots of stuff back there!

My wife (then g/f) bought an '09 brand new. The only options she got on it was automatic transaxle, ABS and traction control. We have had no problems at all with it. It gets very good milage (she is averaging high 20's low 30's all in town driving). We drove it on our honeymoon and at 6'6" I had plenty of room behind the wheel and as a passenger. Overall it is a nice, comfortable, reliable car for the price. It's also not a dog when merging onto the highway. Rev that little I4 up and it will move. The only thing I don't like about her car in paticular (my wife doesn't notice it but I do) is the tires. They are Hancook's and are very noisy on the highway. I believe they are the tires that were standard on most of the cars that model year since several people me and my wife know that have similar cars have the same tires and have the same complaint. Needless to say they will get replaced sooner than later.
