If it doesn't get too hot I'd try brazing, but I'm not a welder.

I have used them before on my t-birds. A lot of how well they will last has to do with how close you are going to have them to the headers/heat source. The best way I have found to help keep the rust down is to make a shield that goes around it to help keep it protected.
 
Prolly between the cats and the muffler....I thought it sounded great with the muffler off,but my dad bitches that its to loud...and well I live under his roof....his rules.

Plus it would be nice to pull up at a light and open the cutout.


Did you use the cast iron ones or another type?
 
it'll weld ,I would use a mig ,it's probably cast steel (meaning rough finish not extra grinding/machining),even if its cast iron I'd still mig it ,just won't last forever
