Anyone drive a full width Ranger on the street? Do the cops mess with you for the tires sticking too far? Pics?

At first I was going to chop the passenger tube 6", but then got to thinking that it's only 3" per side which isn't a whole lot really. Maybe a positive offset wheel would help, but then the tire would rub the radius arm easier.

I don't think I would make it through town once without getting pulled over .Here you need something over the tire and I can't think of anything that dosn't look goofy of course around here you get pulled over for no license plate lights or a trailer ball in the bumper blocking the license plate your supposed to take it off when you unhook the trailer so things are a little crazy here but if they give you trouble its a huge fix.

Yeah most places have laws about keeping your tires covered. Many places do enforce it too. In Alaska I think the maximum you are allowed to have out is .5" or less but people get away with an inch or 2.

Ha! Sucks for yall.

Here, if you can keep it between the white and yellow lines, you're good. A headlight and brake light.........wait, no you can still use hand signals.......headlight if at night and everything is ok.

I'll be running full widths on my Ex very soon.

Here in Illinois we have the laws, but no inspections, so it's up to the cops to decide what they will let you slide with. The law states that the tires can not stick out farther than the factory bumper. I've run 44's on 15x14 wheels on a full size Chevy before and all went well. If I SAS I will be well above the lift law also...

It really depends where you live/where you drive. I'm decently "modded", but not full width and I don't get hassled too much.

Depends on how you build it. I'm within the lift specs, and have been checked by the Authorities :D

i dont really know the lift laws here in florida but it seems like anything goes, theres more than a few guys i know of that their DD has 2 1/2 tons 44in tires+,im going fullwidths w/ 37s on 10in rims so im not expecting any problems

thats whats nice about living in colorado, driving a streetable wheeler without any hassle. a 2.5ton dd on 44s would get me into too much trouble though, lol.

we dont have a lift law here :) and around where i am they dont care about tires sticking out. but when i go into the city for work they do.. ive known people that have have plates pulled for it

i feel bad for ya up here in kent i can run my choped bumper and half doors with no mirrors all day and cops dont bother me about it. state patrol is a different story though

Just Build Some Sheet Metal Fender Flairs That Cover Part Of The Tire......

6" off for a total of 3" on each side isn't going to make much difference anyways. My fullwidth D60 has 3" sticking out on each side of the bushwacker cutouts which are around 4"-5" wider than the stock flares.

Point being, unless you have some type of flares, you'll still have half of a tire past the fender unless you take off alot more than 6".

I have been wondering the same thing about how far the tires would stick out past the fender on back of a 88 ranger useing a f150 rearend, I was thinking about making my little ranger look like I had duels on the back and making a set of fenders to weld on to the bed.

Tennessee does have bumper laws, and tire laws, they just don't enforce it unless you get stop, I got stopped in a lis. check, and the VW i had at the time had no front bumber, I got a fix it ticket, and I have had some friends get stop in the lis. check and had the truck impounded because the bumper was 3' off the ground.
