Anyone try these for fogs in their 93-97?

In the stock OEM fog light valence:

They have a clear lense like the Hella 500FF's but measure about 4.2" round, which means they'll fit in the valence. Anyone tried them?

wow Goretex waterproofed?! no experience with this light, but i've used other Bosch fog lights and they were of excellent quality and performance.

i would make sure it fits. i tried to put some 4in ones in yesterday, they were way too small didnt look right so i got some 5in ones.

Thats what I was afraid of. Having a hell of a time finding 5" lights with the clear lens (using a multi-surface reflector like the Hella 500FF, rather than the lens itself to direct the beam). I like the look so much better but everything is either 4" or 6"

might want to keep in mind that fog lights are to help you see better and make the drive safer. spend the money to get ones that will do just that. you can always customize the valence so they "look better" to those clueless people who think they are there because they look "cool" or "hot".

I agree, I'm more of a function over form guy, but really work hard to get both done at the same time, thats what can set the truck above the rest

There are plenty of 5" options out there but its so hard to find one that will look good below my newer headlights that have the multi-surface reflectors and clear lenses. I'm starting to think I might ditch the OEM fog light valance idea and find a way to mount a bull bar on my gen3, then I can install either 4" or 6" fog lights that are effective AND look good below my newer headlamps too. Problem is it will cost more, but definitely would be done right in terms of both effective lighting and looks.

They're not the clear lens with multi-surface reflector like I want, but they're 5" and cheaper than the KC 50 series, but not sealed beam like the eagle eyes (I hear halogen is better than sealed beam)

I ended up going with Pro Comp Explorer 55's, black housings with the driving/utility beam patter (fluted lens) for $25ea from Summit Racing. They are 5" round, which is about right, but I had to modify the mounting brackets to get them to fit right. They fit the holes very very nicely

Took them out on road tonight and I could not be happier, these lights are awesome! My goal was to put some light below the part of the road the headlights illuminate, and to lay down as wide a beam as possible, and I can't imagine anything doing a better job. Also, these things are nice and BRIGHT. I think they may be brighter than my headlights, BUT, they do not blind oncoming drivers; the fluted lens shapes the beam pattern so it is wide and flat. Huge thumbs up for these lights for anyone who is looking for a good quality fog light for the 93-97 fog valance

Just got done adjusting the passenger side light and they are both aimed properly now. Here are a few daytime pics:

As for filling the holes in the valence, the size is perfect, you just can't get any better than that.

I really only had to drill a hole in the bottom of these factory brackets, the rest of the modifications I had to make were to the bracket on the fog lights themselves. I had to re-drill the mounting holes about 1/2" higher up. Unfortunately no pics of that, I didnt think to do a how-to. Wired them using stock pigtails to the factory wiring. I couldn't be happier!

Thanks, I definitely am happy with these, just in time for the dark days of winter!

I also took the time to wire up a switch and relays into the distribution box for some more auxiliary lighting up on the rollbar when the budget allows, it'll be like plug n play
