My 2006 4.0L 5-speed 4x4 may be up for one.

that is not a kit made for the ranger it is a bunch of parts you would need to install, you will still need to make everything fit,

There is loads of room in my 2006 I had noted the bits where it said slight modification may be needed and such.

Just wanted to know what others might know about the system and if anyone had mounted one up in a '06 (or same gen 4.0L). Want to know some of the headaches I might be in for.

you will either need to fab or find an exhaust manifold or header that has a square flange for the Turbo

honestly that looks like a lot of parts just thrown together. I am sure you could do a better job of hooking up your own remote mount turbo system.

Research it. It isnt that difficult. That is what I would do rather than fabin up a custom manifold. Forget that!

What about some of the systems for the 4.0L Mustangs? Anyone inspected the route of adding one of those?
