dual tanks were a option on some gen 1 rangers, as a result the spare was relocated to the bed. Ive seen a few, not many gen 1’s left around here.

Pic of spare tire rack in bed please. Never seen that.

What the heak is that thing parked next to it?

I thought all Gen1 Rangers had the spare mounted to the side of the bed. I know my '85 did. I've got pictures of it on the other computer. I'll see if I can remember tomorrow to grab them.

Under bed spare tire mounting for Canadians was to new fangled and fancy.

I used to own a 1984 Ranger and it had the spare tire mounted under the bed when not in use.

I had an 83 XLT and spare was mounted underneath.

I have a dual tank 86. It didn't come with a spare tire carrier. The rear tank pump was missing so I removed the tank and put the under box spare carrier in. Also have a f250 with dual tanks. It has the spare carrier up top in the box. But I've never seen a ranger with the carrier up top, That's why I asked for a pic.

I've never seen the value in dual fuel tanks, gas doesn't improve with age and the second tank just adds weight. It wouldn't improve travel distance without stopping for me, I can't burn a full tank of fuel without a bathroom break.

You'd think differently if you were towing a 7200lb travel trailer with behind a 460 F250 runnin 65 with the AC on and OD off.

38 gallons dont go far at 8 mpg.

I thought we were talking about dual tanks on a Ranger.
