I know it's not a Ranger but wow! I saw a comercial last night for the new SHO and just checked it out on the net. It has a 3.5L twin turbo 6 cyl ,365hp@5,500rpm ,6 speed AT and AWD and 19 or 20in wheels. All that stuff would be awesome in my Ranger:)

I think it's a beautiful car. Expensive, though.

Nice, like what they have done. What I don't like is the 4400 lbs and the lack of a manual trans (I know, kind of hard with the front drive at that power level). Looking for a nice four door, I'd sure go for it. Hope it does good in the market, ought to.

I dont know how it will do in the market though, the starting price is quite steep! Almot $38K!!! The manual thing is taken care of by the paddle and slap stick built in the Auto tranny. The thing don't automatically shift like most cars do at redline, it will sit there and bounce till you shift it! So it essentially acts the same!

Its AWD...

The old ones are cool too...kind of

I have seen those old school ones take out mustangs, camaros, and even a few corvettes!

yes but they are expensive to work on. One valve cover gasket is $40 and has to come from ford, and thats my shop cost.........and thats for the v6 and not the junkier v8 ones

A stock vintage SHO can only take out a vette if the vette driver is sleeping. You can only do just so much with 220 hp. However, both the 3.0 MTXs and the 3.2 ATXs were capable of 140 mph right off the dealer lot. The later 3.4 V8s ran about the same.
Power adders are, of course, a totally different game.

I never said anything about not having additions.
heheha

yea i like in the commercial i think the taurus passes an Audi lol nothing like factory twin turbo. my mom had a 96 taurus, ran perfect, but trans slipped alot

the best part of the origanal sho was 3rd gear in the 5 spd. you could cruise in town at 20 mph or go flat out at about 105 mph, all in third. at least my 90 did it at about 8000 rpm and 195000 on the clock. my brothers 3.2 auto not quite as quick or as fast, but the cops never bothered us because they were 4 dr taurus.

Im sorry guys, but no manual, no way. In the 50s and 60s (too young to remember but ive been told) If you wanted an automatic trans you sat in the passenger seat. real enthusiasts piss on automatic transmissions. Ive never owned one and hope i never will have to

I know for a fact that they are capable of OVER 140 stock...

Speedo maxed out in 5th gear and still two grand in the power band left in a '91... no, no pictures :thefinger: but definitely the fastest I've ever gone in a car...
