Anyone running American Racing AR62 Outlaw II Rims on a 84-88 Ranger/BII 4X4? These rims come with a -19mm Offset and 3.75" Backspacing.

If you're using these, do you have any fitment or clearance issues?

Thanks for any feedback!

How wide do you wanna go?

I ran 15x10s on my Explorer. They stuck out a little.

I'm looking at 15X8 rims. These rims come with a -19mm Offset and 3.75" Backspacing. I have a 4" suspension lift with 31 X 10.5 X 15 tires.

Just want to make sure there won't be any issues before I order them.

Thanks

Though I don't have experience with those exact wheels... those are like the gold standard of the aftermarket wheel for a Ranger.

I think they will most likely work just fine.

Sorry to revive an old thread, does anyone know if centering rings are in fact necessary?

The place i'm looking to order them from is insisting I buy centering rings but frankly I'd rather just save my money.

Your truck is hub centric, it uses the center bore to locate the wheel.

Older trucks used tapered lugnuts to center the wheel.

But since you would have to get different lugnuts to work with these wheels (made for tapered lugnuts) I am not sure why you would need centering rings.

That's good to know, I was planning on just reusing the lugnuts currently on my B3000 with the stock wheels for the AR62s.

In your opinion am I better off buying new lugnuts, or centering rings. Or whichever option is ultimately cheaper.

The American Racing wheels are made for conical lugnuts, if yours are that style you should be ok with what you have.

If not they need to match the AR wheels. They also have different angles for the conical bits, make sure matches too.

Thank you so much for the heads up, truly why this Forum is one of my favorite places on the internet!

I used to run these on my '99 4x4. Well they were Pacer brand, but same style and specs. No rings and they did fine. Your '03 should be about the same fitment except for my '99 having the locking hubs sticking out. Only reason I got rid of them is I decided to go back to a 16" wheel when I got new tires, mostly for price and availability around here.

If your stock lug nuts are the style used to attach a snap on center cap, you probably won't be able to use them. If they are the style for wheels that do not have those center caps, you might be able to.

They look strangely familiar.

What's interesting is that the front hubs of my 2WD do stick out a fair bit past the wheel bore. I'm coming from a more car background so it's my first time really dealing with trucks.

My main reason for picking them up vs. a regular set of steels is the weight savings.

My truck is no beauty queen, but it's a solid driver with VERY low miles. So my goal with it overall is to get as much efficiency out of it as humanly possible, and taking 10ish lbs of each wheel goes a long way to do that.
