Anyone repaired a water line?

Nice temp repair, if you were to look at the pieces you pulled out you will find that the opening might be a half to quarter inch in size so it is not surprising when working on it some rust broke loose and sort of plugged the line. Replace the whole line it will do wonders for your water pressure. We always use HDPE pipe for under ground water replacement don't have to use a sleeve because it is direct bury.

You did well to even get it done Jim. I'm barely a hundred miles away, and the heatwave we had began on Saturday 8-19-23 109.5F, Sunday 110F, Monday 107, Tuesday 105, Wednesday 107, Thursday 109. Friday 111, Saturday 112 (Sundays was so low I didn't write it down)
The heat wave happened while you were out there Jim, glad you made it through

when i moved my water heater downstairs, into the garage, i knocked a bunch of junk loose in the lines, too. i had to take the angle stops off and clean the inlet side filters and also take the screens at the faucets off to clean the junk out. the shower head had junk too but it was so worth not having hte water heater in the bathroom on the floor.

i used those same push on fittings. they are so easy to use.
