Anyone recognize this sway bar?

94 Ranger is getting leaf clamps, James Duff traction bars, rear shackle flip, rear sway bar if deemed needed. It needs to stay planted…
I did about 4” of lowering. Did the Explorer 8.8 in spring under with heavy leaf packs and leaf clamps, Explorer spring plates, moved the passenger side upper shock mount to the rear on the frame, swaybar, traction bars. Had to use an extended shackle to get out of frame notch territory because getting the front down on a 4x4 is difficult. Put the bigger Explorer front bar on. It stays super planted, I’ve had it in a 4-wheel drift (it’s currently AWD).

I seriously considered an Explorer or SportTrac 8.8, and adding a couple leafs. And a V8 Explorer radiator.
And then remembered that it is a 240+k mile 2.3/5spd rwd… I “could” easily go from tib to ttb, but, finding a 5spd with t-case for a 2.3 is proving difficult. I have a 1t 4wd c&c dually for that kind of work/weather. Don’t need another headache that badly.

Yeah, 2.3 4X4s are a rare thing, even when they were new. They exist, but finding one is almost like looking for hen's teeth.

That's what kept the 1997 one I have around so long.

Now to figure out how to ship it to Maine...

I have an 89 2.3 5-speed 4x4 parts truck, lol

I'll be in western PA in a week. I could pick it up and get it as far as South Carolina for you. Would that help?

Wait... isn't that the wrong direction?

Stay away from my truck!

But yeah I mean... Go south far enough and you'll eventually start going north.. but then you gotta go south again... There's a LOT of ocean and ice and black flies in the way though... Just going north to begin with would definitely be easier.

Ok. Take the easy way.

I would. Recently came across video evidence that Rangers don't swim very well. I'd definitely be taking the easy route. If you watch Youtube check out the video of Colt-Builds-It's Alaska trip for a Ranger down and a lot of nice scenery.

That said, if I could build the truck for it and get the time and logistical support to take the long route it would probably be a fun trip. Down through Central America, South America, boat to Antartica, cross the pole, boat back up to Australia, island hop across to mainland Asia, across Siberia, down through Alaska across Canada to Maine. Or would it be easier to take a left and go through Europe, Greenland, Iceland, and back down?

Either way, a lot more time and money that I could afford.

You know, Sir Edmond Hillary’s expedition to find the South Pole used Ferguson TE-20 farm tractors to haul their supplies across the arctic.
