94 Ranger is getting leaf clamps, James Duff traction bars, rear shackle flip, rear sway bar if deemed needed. It needs to stay planted…Traction bars/ladder bars may end up on all my trucks.

I did about 4” of lowering. Did the Explorer 8.8 in spring under with heavy leaf packs and leaf clamps, Explorer spring plates, moved the passenger side upper shock mount to the rear on the frame, swaybar, traction bars. Had to use an extended shackle to get out of frame notch territory because getting the front down on a 4x4 is difficult. Put the bigger Explorer front bar on. It stays super planted, I’ve had it in a 4-wheel drift (it’s currently AWD).94 Ranger is getting leaf clamps, James Duff traction bars, rear shackle flip, rear sway bar if deemed needed. Damn. That's crazy! And here I'm just trying to clean out my garage![]()
Yeah, 2.3 4X4s are a rare thing, even when they were new. They exist, but finding one is almost like looking for hen's teeth.I seriously considered an Explorer or SportTrac 8.8, and adding a couple leafs. And a V8 Explorer radiator.
And then remembered that it is a 240+k mile 2.3/5spd rwd… I “could” easily go from tib to ttb, but, finding a 5spd with t-case for a 2.3 is proving difficult. I have a 1t 4wd c&c dually for that kind of work/weather. Don’t need another headache that badly.
That's what kept the 1997 one I have around so long.Yeah, 2.3 4X4s are a rare thing, even when they were new. They exist, but finding one is almost like looking for hen's teeth.
