I really didn't watch much TV when I was a kid. I always listened to the radio or my Dad's record collection. I played drums in school briefly but talking my Dad into getting a kit was pretty tough. Than he bought me a Casio. Ahhh..., the good 'ol Casios. Wish I still had that thing. Hell I heard some dance tune on Sirius the other day that incorperated the same 8 bit sound processor.

In any event, my calling turned out to be the guitar. Although it wasn't until a little over a year ago that I started to take professional lessons, I messed around quite a bit with them. I didn't grow up with a silver spoon so I had to wait till I could save up money on my own to buy my first acoustic.. an Ovation. That has since been retired after the bridge pulled off it several years ago. But I have since built up a collection. Some of which I dont have the room for. But I refuse to sell them.

These are a few that I have in my basement. If anyone is in the Eastern Pa area and wants to jam let me know. I don't do it often enough.

That's funny that you started this thread, I just restrung my bass today after 3 1/2 years of it sitting in my closet. I don't know crap about musical notes and what not, just tabs to play for fun and to pass some time. I used to be in a band back in 05, but when I got kicked out thats when I stopped.

It's an Ibanez SRX300 4 string. Got it for my 16th birthday. I'll get a picture of it in a little bit.

My first ever bass was when I was 15, it was some peice of crap from ebay and was a fender knock off, I don't even remember the name it was so unheard of hahaha.

EDIT: Pic posted. My cell phone sucks, I know.

The pic works dude.. looks good. You'll be glad you dusted her off. I want to get a bass just to mess around with. But than I would need a bass amp. Something else for the wife to say "don't you have enough" too. Although she bought me a few of the guitars as gifts so maybe it won't be so bad.

I do not play the guitar or anything stringed(not enough coordination). But I do play the tuba, and every once in a while i dust off my old trumpet.

I play bass, used to have a decent collection going on. But stuff happened and I've only got a beat up Ibanez SR200 4 stringer.

My old gear:
Warwick Standard Corvette 4-String
Dean Razor 4-String (24 fret/Two octave neck)
Gallien-Krueger 700RBII amp head
Gallien-Krueger Neo 212 cab

EDIT: You can see my Nady Wireless reciever in those pics too, I forgot about that thing. Oh man it ruled to be able to move around without a cord and still play. Could be 6 houses away with that thing and it still had good signal.

How I miss my old gear...

I'm thinking of getting another Dean MLF, I found one for sale on the Dean guitars forum for a good price, depending on how my taxes come out I may grab it. I'd like to start stuffing that rack case with a few toys, but it's hard to pass up another guitar.

I have a Samick Stage 5 4-string bass guitar I'm thinking about getting out of the closet once I buy an amp for it.

I have a Washburn Idol Pro 58 or something, it gets the job done, and a Peavey Valveking, and that's about all I've ever needed, I used to be in a band that toured locally, and made some pretty good change, but school got in the way and now I don't have time for it anymore... I can also play any wind instrument, and piano, and strings, but my specialty is brass (used to be a music performance major)

Been playing the drums for about 12 years now. Currently rocking a Pear Export series set with a mix of Sabian and Zildjiian cymbals.

Nice.

I played drums for a short stint in a band a couple years ago. Rocked a Pearl Forum series 5 piecer with the basic Zildjians to go with it (high-hat, crash, Ride). Simple, and it got the job done. Sounded good too.

Love Zildjians... friend of mine is a serious drummer and he bought himself a set of those silver colored ones. They got dirty so easy but wow did they sound good. Too bad the price was way high :annoyed:

Pretty easy to see the age range of the respondents by the choice of instruments. LOL
