Anyone play a musical instrument?

I've played some kind of instrument since elementary school. Started on drums all though school and marched snare. Picked up a little guitar along the way and finally settled on bass guitar. Don't really get to play much anymore though.

Its great to see all the responses. Little bit of everything out there. Making music, no matter how bad it is (lol), can do alot for someone. I always said that music is the most powerful thing, as it can break someone as easily as it has the power to heal. Of course the breaking could be a pane of glass and the healing could be your head after someone asked you WOULD YOU KNOCK THAT THE EFF OFF!?! But that's part of the fun....

Been a Drummer for 14 years now. Used to play in a band until the other guys became jerks to my girlfriend at the time so I left. I have another little group that I play with now, mainly oldies and classic rock and roll. :headbang: Also played in a marching band for 4 years on snare. I sometimes play a little pep band at my old high school when I come back to the area for a visit. Even after all these years, my old band instructor is just thrilled to see me and all the music kids there know of my reputation and legend of the best drummer old Mr. Paul had ever taught. Thats what he tells them and anyone who gets him on the subject of drums.

ONCE A DRUMMER, ALWAYS A DRUMMER!!!!! :headbang:

52 fender hotrod Tele.
A Dean Metalman Demonator bass.
And the worst sounding gibson hollowbody anyone will ever hear.

I have and can play...

clarinet: soprano (the normal clarinet), bass, and contra-alto
saxophone: soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone

I have a bass guitar, but I don't practice enough, so I'm horrible. It's a Washburn something (don't remember.

Drums are hard. I can coordinate my hands fairly well, but I can't coordinate the hands and feet together. Sounds bad.

Twizzler09........that Warwick bass is BAD@$$. I love the tone they make.

Here's my Schecter Ultra. This thing is the heaviest thing I have ever played. It's heavier than any Les Paul I've played. I love playing this guitar. It has Grover machines, a Tone-Pros Tune-O-Matic, and a coil tap. I hate the humbuckers in it but they sound awesome when you tab them to single coils.

We have a jam session every Friday night. I play drums, my older brother picked up a guitar at age 15, spent the money for his guitar lessons on beer and still impressed my parents with his talents--he's 42 now and the most natural musician I've ever known. We have another guy that picks up anything and can play it though he doesn't have that natural spontaneous feel. He likes bass best but does a damn good banjo and guitar. The last guy is a percussionist. He plays djembe normally. He can throw the most complex rythms over anything we play. We have some pretty cool sessions--all impromptu. Anyone around southern Indiana would be welcome to show up and jam with us. It's no-point jamming. Everyone has a day job.

I have played a little of everything, started with clarinet, then sax, then tuba, ended up a drummer. Marched in band for 4 years, played bass drum, snare and quints. (got into trouble and ended up playing cymbols for a short time as punishment). Took about 8 years of piano lessons as a kid. Was in a couple bands, mostly "Hair Rock", but was never serious enough about it. Still have a 5 piece set of OLD Pearls, also have a set of Rototoms and a mix-n-match set of cymbols. My snare was autographed by Buddy Rich and Sandy Nelson if anyone around here is old enough to remember who they were. I got to play with my cousins band a couple years ago for one concert...It was fun. They have 3 albums out now and are working on a 4th. I felt really out of place because I'm not into country music all that much.

I don't play anything right now.... :(

I want to get started playing the Banjo.
