according to my records, they owe me $20,000 ......... I paid over $40,000 in the last 5 years to pay off $10,000 in back support...... they say I still owe $7500......... I wish they would get some real accountants in stead of accounting school rejects ...... I only got 7 years left ...... the sad part ..... I have not been allowed visitation.......... ever .......... I was in the Military therefor I am violent............ I have not seen him since he was 1 year old.
if it were up to me, based on service alone you would have gotten custody. but alas it is not....

Does anybody know whats the deal with line 63? I'm getting $400 from that, but don't know what it is exactly.
It has to do with the adjusted withholding last year. CLICKY. Mines $800.00 (always claim zero dependents on your W4)

So simply, its a tax credit given to those tax payers that don't make much of a gross income. I thought it was related to my Sch C (business income). Which is only 5% or less of my gross income.

Either way. I'm done with the brain bashing forums. Now onwards to spending that refund.

My parents got $4000 back. I haven't done my taxes yet but I expect to get SOMETHING. I got shafted last year because I had to pay for the school levy, still got a little back when all said and done though.

i drew about 7,500 this year and didn't have any taxes with held but i claim a 0 so i assume i'll probably get back around 200. I don't understand how someone can have the maximum held out of every check then still owe at the end of the year. I swear the IRS are a bunch of scammers but what can you do..?

Only thing about being selfemployed is I come up with insane amount of write offs. I still end up paying everytime.

im not sure where i stand yet this year, usually i get back around 3K, but i was laid off for about a month last year, cashed in a old 401K thathad lost 10K over the last 3 years, put most of it in cd's and kept out about 2,000. its probly not going to be good, i did have a good amount took out so i woulnt have such a tax penlty, but one never knows. id like to move somewhere where there is no school district, ive been claiming the wrong one for years, (my child goes to a different district than the one i live in) but sooner or later that district is going to pass some stupid levy. im guessing at best i'll only get 2,000 back at best. just waiting on the mail for things that havent shown up yet.

I am getting about 800 back. What gets me though is that they are taking the 250 of from the "stimulus program" otherwise I would have gotten a little over 1000 back.

First of all, you don't get it "back" you overpaid. Yes I am getting a refund, but you know what, since the United States is going to shit, we are in debt, we don't produce anything anymore, the United States is going to crash economically and militarily. I will have to readjust my earnings, because next year, you just might not get a refund, if the government is broke and they can no longer cease to pay out, just look at some states not paying in a timely fashion their bills, because of the latest economic crisis.

If that was to happen on a federal scale, I would certainly not want to be overpaying the Government! Also the money I overpaid is not giving me ANY interest or benefit. If I could increase my savings by $5 a week instead of overpaying every week, it would help me.

Some like this lump sum payment every year, but it does come with a very real cost/risk.

People with kids and who don't make much money in a year most always get back shit loads of money!!!

People who make more then average usually owe!!!

Simple.

Usually get a couple g's back.

Wife and I are trying to pay back our debts and her college loans, so we both work two jobs. Guess working your ass off is frowned upon, because now we owe the feds around 1K, and I have no idea on state!

f-in stupid shit!

Way to go obama! Power to the prez!

I'm gettin 7000 back fed, 800 state, claimin 2 kids single. One job, 27000.

Ugh I was wrong, I owe $261 to the feds and am getting $58 back from the state. I'll be redoing my w-4 for this year.

That's the shitty part.

I saw the drop in my withholdings. But, I also knew we were supposed to be getting more back as per the huge deal they made when they passed it.

Little did I know, the stupid pricks would fail to change the tax code so you didn't have to pay it all back in the dead of winter when no one has extra money.

My withholdings from my full-time job dropped from $22 a week in fed, to $8 a week. Wuhoo more money.

Nottt... Now I owe it all.

I changed both my employers to withhold at the single tax rate now.

They should have done a little better job of explaining the downfalls instead of patting themselves on the back and talking about the 'extra' money each week.
