Anyone know what this is? It connected to upper intake and exhaust manifold. Its not on my 90 auto 2.3. Do manual versions get this? (engine it came out of). I have a spare intake without this attachment

Its the EGR valve and EGR tube

EGR = exhaust gas recirculation

Some states required it in some years to meet emissions for that engine in that year

1995 and up Rangers all had it

Thanks Ron so if I swapped the engine into my ranger body that did not have this EGR valve and tube I dont belive it has a plug in my engine wiring harness for it either would cel come on? Or best to just swap upper intake and exhaust manifold?

It would just be extra parts, since your engine computer doesn't look for it.

I would either remove it and block off the intake and exhaust openings, or swap over your intake and exhaust

Leave it on there and tell anybody who asks, - "That there is a Hard-to-find Muffler Bearing. One of the rarest and most sought after parts in all of Autoism."
