anyone know what it would cost for a rear main seal change

well i know that on my '79 351M it isnt very hard, only got to haul off the base pan. but on yours you probably have to remove the transmission. so it will probably cost a pretty penny

i just did the clutch myself about 2 weeks/ 100mi ago. and all the sudden it started drippin oil everywhere. no way in hell im gunna do it again.

might as well thats how you learn how to work on trucks. do it your self and the cost is like 5 bucks for the seal. its just takes time to do things. i promise ask around here and TRS will help talk you through it. might even find a member close that can give you a hand

Ya, its going to cost you. I had the Ford dealer replace mine when they did the clutch. Total cost time went from 4.0hrs to 4.1hrs. Go figure. But it probably saved me the extra $200 that would it cost in labor to replace a $5 part.
