Anyone just got to have the latest Apple product?

You guys must be PC users, no?

yep.

Don't get me wrong, Mac makes a good product. but it is NOT worth the price you pay for it! Unless you are into heavy picture/graphical/movie editing, you are better off spending your money on a PC. the above scenario is the only place where Mac really beats the pants off of the PC market.

for everything else, a pc is a better buy. you can get a pc laptop for a third of the price of a Mac. the argument of "windows gets all the malware/viruses etc" does not wash. it is true, but you can get a pc and load any flavor of Linux on it and have the same advantage as the mac for again, a third of the cost. the Mac OS is based on Linux anyways.

And the article I posted is more to make fun of the people that go out there and spend a huge amount of money on every new iphone, ipad or apple gadget immediately when it comes out just to have the "latest" than it is to make fun of the apple equipment.

I dislike Apple's monopolistic control of their products *after* I buy them. I won't buy anything from them until they're more -'creative friendly'.

And, at home I run Linux. I coudl run Windows, or OS-X, but Ubuntu works pretty well for me.

Jason - You score. That was really funny. My wife and daughter both have I-Phones. Daughter's been through three of those POS's. I dropped my crackberry in the pool (saltwater pool mind you), dried it out a couple of days, worked perfectly. Daughter drops I-Phone in toilet, died instantly.

I have been a strict PC user for years. However I recently purchased a macbook pro. I found that they had the same specs as a comparatively priced PC, and I wanted something different.

As far as the apple hype, the whole I-phone thing is crazy. I will never buy an I-phone, especially with the antenna issues they are having now. There are much more cooler smart phones out there, with better features fore less $$.

60 bucks for an otter box will buy you about five minutes of water proofing or twenty feet in a fall...

I just got rid of my 4th Iphone 3gs in 2 months and went to Verizon to get the Droid and couldn't be happier!

meh, i never bought an apple product in my life nor wanted, im only 17 and it seems like im the only person who didn't want an ipod/iphone. hell, my phone i used in highschool was a 1993 analog motorola microtac on pageplus cellular. this was from 06 to early 08 when they shut off analog cellular in the bay area. i could get service prettymuch everywere, and had people with ATT phones, including iphones ask to borow my phone(without knowing its a brick) cause they either got no service or there battery is shot. i recently activated a 10 year old motorola startac on pageplus and used it for when i was working, the danm 10 year old phone worked better than most other phones around me, att phones weren't on verizons level. ive only owned 1 macintrash pc, a 1992 mac "pizza box" with a 20 mhz motorola 68k cpu. the danm thing didn't work, it was a free one i found, turned out to have corrosion on the mother board... piece of crap. i work in the pc repair industry, and ive seen alot of dead apple laptops. there new designs and style attributes to there fall, for example, there chargers are know for having the cord come out of the charger connector, cause the wire gauge is small, and there no casing that holds it in securly. also, macbooks were known for overheating. on top that, there desktops are a bitch to fix cause they use special mac parts, yet are slower than pc's of the same era. ive had guys trade in g3's and g4's to get old beater pentium 2s and 3s with xp on them. apple products are for people who want to show off and are mainly status symbols. more advanced/reliable hardware is avalible and cost less, and less restricted too

That's why I love my Zune 120. A couple of years old, and it still has more capability than the new iPods.
