I am replacing my exhaust on my 1999 Ranger 4X4 w/ the 4.0L.

I am going from the cat back, and im gonna do 2.5" pipe to the muffler, do a single inlet/dual oulet flowmaster 40 series with 2.5" outlet.
What i was wondering is if anyone has done this setup and how it sounded.

Thanks

I have 2.25 with a single in/out flowmaster 40 and a y pipe to the rear out on both sides behind the rear tires. It sound pretty good for a carbed 2.8L a 4.0L would sound pretty speedy.

alright thanks, keep the ideas coming guys!

i get my exhaust done on thursday, with a flowmaster 50 series(single inlet, dual outlet) with 2.5 to 3 inch aluminized pipes, i will let you know and record it on thursday if i have time.

ya i got a magnaflow muffler from 2 1/4 inlet to 2 1/2 outlet and i just have a turndown to dump it under the truck and it sounds reall nice deep sound but i bet the 4L will sound even better

jba headers, catco high flow, super 40 single in/ dual out, all 3" front to back sounds amazing. low rumble and good crackle on acceleration

I'd like to try one of these:

Dual inlet/dual outlet. No need for a crossover pipe, the muffler would act as one.

i have a flowmaster super 44 (the new loudest one) with a 2 1/2" in and dual 2 1/2" out and it exits before the back right tire its damn loud on a 2.9 it would sound pretty sweet on a 4.0 i could feel a little power increase.

Just got my exhaust done today. Flowmaster 50s series. single inlet/dual outlet. 2.5 inch pipes to 3 inch tips. Sounds great!!!

i would be very interested to see how it sounds stokedranger!
