Anyone have one of them pocket rockets?

Coming from experience, those little asian pocket bikes that sell for that cheap are a mistake. They fall apart and just make a mess. If I were you I would invest $500 and buy a CRF50 off craigslist. Buy some street tires, and BAM! you will have something that you would have to smash on pretty bad for it to break.

like great white said, dont go cheap asian...lol, we bought one off of ebay for like $50 but was like 300+ to ship, and put it together, barely...and it just is crap, like, we dont have the plastic on it cause it broke off, and we now are using the 50cc motor on one of those old school razr electric scooters, lol.

we bought an actual racing one, with a stage 2 or 3 expansion chamber, and some other things done to it.... it was around $1500, i believe, maybe a bit more....but it was a friend selling it and we got for 500 and a 1800 VW engine, that now sits in a dune buggy. :icon_thumby:

Yes, those are chunks of shit.

Yeah, that sounds like a good idea... Some of those 50s haul some arse. A four stroke one would be best, they tend to last a bit longer.

Have you considered getting a cheap motorcycle instead?

Like the one in your sig?

Sure I have, but I don't have the dough for one of them. Inexpensive used ones are hard to come by down here in vato land. Used anything is hard to come by down here- Nobody can afford new stuff, so demand is high for solid used cars, trucks, quads, et cetera... Makes it hard for us college folk since all the old poor people are buying stuff like this quicker than you can say bullshit!

I was looking to buy one much like your Vulcan 500, they are decently priced even new. Pretty sweet bikes for the money. Have to see what my housing status is next semester first I reckon.

Where exactly are you located? I picked up the Vulcan with some issues (that so far all appear to be ones I can resolve with time but not much money) for $800. If you're not trying to go that fast, even a 250 like a Rebel/TU250 etc is an incredibly practical bike. Mine took me on multi-hour interstate commutes several times.

I had another idea for you, go online and look up something called a YSR80 or NSR80(a little more rare). Its a "street legal" pocket bike that comes with the reliable yamaha 80 or honda 80 2-stroke motor and you can pick them up for pretty cheap.

I live in Southern NM. I would go with a 500 at least, I look ridiculous on a 200. I tried a Yamaha 250 once and it was a bit small. Doable, but small. 800 ain't bad at all.

Sweet, I shall endeavor to check that out as soon as I can.

BIG money for those things nowadays... but they are pretty sick little bikes...
