so i went out to my truck today and it woudlnt start.. so i started checking things.. turned out my fuel pump wasnt turning on. i checked the fuse on the side of the driver side dash and wiggled it and heard it come on then i tryed to start and it did but then turned off. it did this a couple times. i messed with the fuse and got the truck to stay running and drive but it only stays like that when the fuse is in a certain position..

the fuse might have a crack in it or the connecters are dirty try getting a brand new fuse and clean the connecters. It is a bullet style right?. that should work

bullet style meaning? the little ones with the two prongs and the connecter thingy inside..
its not a relay fuse under the hood

Hey Mike,

I had a car that did this...The best fix other than always fooling with it was to replace the fuse box. The connectors for one of the fuses was blackened along with the prongs inside of the box.

Also, sometimes if you push it in really hard, it'll stay put for a long time. Just dont kick that panel on accident! Bottom line is though, the fusebox is probably no good if its doing that.

If the prongs are burned you will prolly have to replace the fuse box. bad show.....

well befor you put a new fuse box in it disconnect the battery se if you can push the prongs out for that fuse threw the back bend so they will grip the fuse better push it back in and put some dielectric grease on the fuse. or even just pop the wires out completely and a fuse holder. either way it's under 4 bucks to fix
