i think a PA system would be really funny...

hook it up to a mic, and also if i can do a mic with my audio at the same time that would be cool, if not, just a switch to choose if i want audio or microphone...

saw an "electrical musical horn with 46 sounds and PA" in LMC catalog...

ajustable on/off volume controll to allow for easy sound level control, five bright LED lights on the control module which instantly indicates system mode and a 4" diameter weatherproof horn that mounts under the hood. For 12 volt negative ground systems.

The Electronic Musical Horn easily plugs into a cigarette lighter or power point to play a selected sound three times and stop automatical or can be used as a powerful loud speaker with the included microphone. The command module is 7" wide by 3" high and easily mounts within reach using the included adhesive backed hook and loop patches. No drilling is required.

Animal mode: bird, eagle elephant horse sheep dog tiger cow rooster turkey cat duck hen frog
alarm mode: whistle car horn train laughing and 12 different siren sounds
music mode: lambada, it's a small world, fur elise, do rei mi, oh my darling, silent night, long long ago, hungary dance, for bogey, swan lake, oh susannah, baho dance, hallelujah, row row row your boat, love story, when the saints go marching in. Or go directly to piano mode and create your own music by pressing hte buttons on the control panel.

Part number 42-1501, it goes for 59.95 from LMC... seems like a pretty good deal actually.... but i was wondering if anybody else knew any good ones.

my buddy ahs that same one LMC sells. he got it at autozone for a few buck cheaper. we ended up putting the small speaker behind his grill. it works great

My CB has a PA function. If I ever come up with a practical use for it I might get a speaker for it and see how it works.

I actually go the CB for traffic updates when I would leave Omaha on I-80 going back into Iowa, I hated coming around a curve at 62mph and finding the traffic stopped in front of me. Truckers don't like either, so they tell each other about it.

I have one on my CB to I use for fun. Like sitting in a parking lot bored and a group of girls walk by :D :scare: :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl: and its quiet loud for a tiny 4 watt speaker

i'm not looking for it to be practical, as it probably never will be practical.... so that's why 60 bucks is kinda steep for me...

kinda lookin for one that is slightly cheaper, i could go without the animal noises... that's stupid to me.

i had one that had songs, animal noises, sirens, and a pa. i installed it think i would use it a lot. rarely touched it though.

Might be funny...but don't be stupid.

I use my Cobra 29LTD BC w/ PA control and the baddest loudest PA speaker my local CB shop sells. Mounted it behind the grille and since it's an all weather, it's a-okay to run in that location...and is really loud!

You can do it cheaply using a Cobra 19DX IV radio($50 radio) and a decent speaker($15). CB doesn't even have to be functional(coax, antenna) to use your PA speaker.

which is why i'm looking for an el cheapo, mostly just a PA... but wouldn't mind having the alarm sounds or the sound of a train horn or something lol.

i know all about how not to be stupid.... i go to school in the ghetto, and know when and where are the right places to use it lol.

i'm thinking that just a basic microphone and speaker should be cheaper than ~$65... maybe i'm wrong, but I haven't really looked around I guess.

Used CB's pop up on craigslist every once in awhile, usually less than $20.

I got my Cobra 19 Ultra at Wally World for $40.

how did you guys run the wires to the speaker? did you have go through the firewall?

Look around garage sales the usually have cb's for 5 bucks and I run my wires through a hole in the firewall that the P.O. plugged up with a sparkplug :icon_confused: and my el-cheapo Para Dynamic speaker has lasted pretty well these 3 years even though it gets hit with most of the mud, water, and bugs I hit. :D so look around some garage sales you might even get it for free! :icon_thumby:

be careful with these. i know here in mass if you have a pa it must be clearly visible or you can get charged with impersonating a cop. im not sure if behind the grille qualifies as visible. might be a good idea to check your local laws just to be safe.
