Anybody feel scammed by RockAuto?

I've been using the discount. As far as what part uses the same warehouse, well I want what I want and I don't care if they are the same warehouse. When I'm upgrading, I want specific items, so the same warehouse doesn't matter to me even though the shipping will be higher.

I do use the discount also but my point to ordering on line is to get the correct part the first time and to save money. When I need to start paying more for shipping it starts cutting into the reason I shop there. If I need the part I'll pay the extra but dislike it the whole time.

No matter what I can get my parts faster by shopping local but the prospect of saving money on the same or better quality part out weighs my need for speed... most times.

Do I feel ripped off? No.
Do I like the new system? No
Could RockAuto make the experiance better? Most definitely they can.

has anybody told Rockauto about customer dissatisfaction?

The parts stores we have around here are all big box and their parts that are stocked are what sells to the masses. Rock Auto has a better selection, usually, and their prices are generally much better even with shipping. Outside of fluids and filters, I generally don't use the local big boxes much anymore.

My guess is they have to know... one order shipped out of 2 or 3 separate warehouse. How could they not know?

You would think that they would have known about this by now but going back a few years they had the same part, different brand, at different warehouses so it is possible they just haven't noticed. When I put my next order in, most likely next month, I will be looking to fill out a survey/customer satisfaction thing/ comment or some way to inform them this new system is not conducive to selling parts without added frustration... but worded so the simple man can understand it, without big words.

Meanwhile an order from Amazon costs about the same overall but it has FREE FREIGHT!!

It bugs me too but... I was pricing a fuel pump last week. Amazon was only $2 cheaper with much longer ship time (and it seems like Amazon car parts are always hanging out of the box by the time I get them too)
Amazon just pissed me off.

I ordered an IAT and ECT for my 2.9 with free overnight shipping. I ordeder and paid for it and now it says may 15th.

Yeah, that is kind of their thing now.

They were $2 under rockauto (with shipping from 3 warehouses) but rockauto was 3 weeks faster on my last order.

I've checked prices on rockauto and compared them to e-bay and I tend to use ebay over rockauto. You know what your getting and where its coming from. I've never had any real problems with ebay and if I do it normally gets resolved with no cost to me. I'm not a fan of big box stores like rockauto so if I can support a local or small-town business then i'd rather do that. Small businesses need it more than ever now.

Amazon is prioritizing essential delivers... or some story like that.

Ebay always has an estimated delivery just when you are looking for parts instead of how amazon doesn't tell you until after you order. Just bought stuff on ebay the past few days and weeks and everything comes within a week. I got an amazon account and just don't really care for it.... Support small businesses.

Yeah, some story like that.

We have been waiting two weeks for baby wipes that are in stock to ship. Dad's ordered 1000 marigold seeds and they shipped the next day.

eBay > Amazon, hands-down IME
