anybody ever mount lights on the cowl?

ive been thinking about doing this to the ranger....i did it on my old 89 cherokee just didnt know if anybody tried on a ranger or has any pictures...

here is the cherokee

i thought bout it. i was gonna make a bracket that did a zig zag from between the fender and the hood. on each side of course
 
I'm a fan of the police style spotlight mounts so you can turn it by hand, and it's not really in the way.

Your doing it for function not form after all.

yea ive actually tried to snag a few of those in the yards but they are always half apart or parts missing
 
i saw this done on an explorer and i liked ti might do it to my ranger
 
i think im going to do it...sucks ill have to pull the fenders to do it because the cowl is closed off pretty well...but oh well it will be worth it
 
i'm running cowl mounted lights on my trail rig/dd tracker. i like that location because you still get lots of light down the trail without as much glare as when they are mounted on the top and less chance of damage as the ones mounted on the push bars.
 
I've thought of doing this, if I wasn't so concerned with drilling holes in my cowl I'd do it. It looks like a good place, and is probably better than drilling holes in your roof. You see a lot of jeeps with this type of mount! I say go for it!

Get a big spotlight and magnet....... mount two on each side.
thats something I did, caugh, errr...... I mean, would do.
