Any suggestions for removing scratches?

Got my truck stuck in a ditch... Got it winched out rubbed a big ass bush and it scratched my paint and taillight ....my gramps is gunna be pissed any suggestions?

if its only in the clear coat(u cant feel it with your fingernail) u can wetsand starting with some 1200 grit, and increase on up to 2k grit, then use a compound and buff out the wetsanding scratches. will make your paint so shiney and get rid of all the little imperfections in the clear, and orange peel. but i warn u its not for the faint of heart

If it's only in the clear coat then sanding isn't necessary, IMO.

You can try a scratch or swirl remover, that may work. Personally though, I have found no better substitute to a good carnauba wax. I prefer Zymol.

I never use any type of tools as I prefer to do everything by hand. I'd suggest rubbing in your scratch remover or wax (or both) by hand, and as hard as you possibly can. Doing it by hand you can isolate the pressure applied to just the scratches. Apply it parallel to the direction of the scratch, and do it repeatedly.

Clear coat scratches are no biggie, wax will rub them right out. I have even "repaired" some scratches that have gone through the paint using wax alone. My dads F-250 had a nasty gash on the bedside. After applying about 5 coats of wax directly to the scratch then waxing the surrounding area, it was almost undetectable.

Feel free to wax the taillight. It will help there, too.

I would try a clay bar kit. Ive used them to remove some things they arent suppose to remove and it worked. Just my .02
