Found a ad on the bulletin board at Raily's the other day for a Mossberg ATR bolter in .308 with Mossberg 3X9 scope, $350.00 or trade for handgun.
The only handgun I had and didn't need was a Colt Trooper Mk-3 in .357 mag so I called the guy and asked what kind of pistol he was looking for and he said a .357 mag, DUH!:)
Went to his house (8 min away) and did the swap, the rifle is like new as was the Colt but the cool thing was I paid only $180.00 for the Colt about 10 years ago from a friends friend,
and NO, it wasn't hot!
Put 60 rnds through it last Friday experimenting with ammo types and for the next few days my shoulder was sore!!!

cut back to 30 rounds a day, lol.good score!

I throw bullets out the end of a 1877 Colt .41 cal. Thunderer. Smooth action and in very good shape for a 131 year old gun.
It was reputed that Billy the Kid and Doc Holliday carried the same model. I can see why, very accurate, double action, and one tough gun.

I wasn't aware the Mossberg came in a .308 now, they only had .270 and 30-06 when they came out. Good to see they are expanding their line. My dad won a 30-06 ATR when they first came back at a Ducks Unlimited banquet and gave it to me. Nice rifle, especially for the price :)

I've always liked Mossbergs, my 500 shotgun is a tough SOB.

Huh, looking at Mossberg's website, they have a second line of bolt action rifles out.

mine too! i bought a syn stock and pump for mine, but havent put it on though, i dont know why, but ive always liked the synthetic look.

.308 a sweet round, i dont know about big game but it packs a punch. im tryin to get my hands on a AR-10 but a little low on $$ right now. My little brother has an mossberg 500, and the gun can not be broken but i still prefer my remingtion 1100, its a little easier (but heavy) on my shoulder.

Most of my shooting is with Ruger Vaquero's in .45 LC, 1894 Marlin Cowboy LTD in 45 CL, 12 ga CZ Durango SXS and a Remy 1897 12 ga take-down pump.

.308 is a nice round for medium to large game. i myself prefer a smaller yet faster round to a slower but heavier round(hence my .257 wby mag), but if you're not lookin to shoot distance--500 to 800 yds---the .308 would be my choice. x2 on the good score!!!

i'm not big on hand guns. but i'm in love with my 300 win mag almost as much as my truck. between my father and i we have 7 or 8. my most recent is a savage. nothing fancy yet, but i'm looking at a tactical stock, and i just got a harris bipod for it that i love! its amazing what a 180 gr nozzler will do to a prarie dog at 110 yards.. haha.

killed a couple big 6x6 bull elk. but this year i get to try my luck with my old mathews bow! wish me luck!

Got a Savage 17HMR with a 6-24x44 AO scope, little Marlin .22 and a SKS.

I 2 have a Savage .017 HMR, heavy barrel, adjustable trigger, poly stock and BSA scope. Real fun shooter.

Have a SKS with Red Dot, folding poly stock and 30 rnd mag.
AK-47 with 20 rnd mag and Red Dot sight.

Looking for a used AR and maybe a used Barret 50 but the 50's are hard to find for a realistic price.

How do you like the Ruger Vaquero's? My dad is looking a pair just to plink around with, he has a couple black powder revolvers and wants something a little less complicated to shoot.

I have always wanted a 100ATR, but I can't find much reason to justify one. All you can use them for around here is coyotes and a late doe season which you can also use a shotgun or muzzleloader (I already have one of each). The 4x4 rifles are a neat looking gun too. I am a big fan of Mossberg, I pack a 20ga 500 for most of my deer hunting, and I just picked up a 702 Plinkster from Cabela's a couple weeks ago, I really like them both.

When I was in the Reserves I put a lot of rounds through one of these

, a good rifle and good fun to fire. I have a nice pair of targets from the range in the gun store/range in the West Edmonton mall in Edmonton Alberta, one was .357 mag Desert Eagle (second time with a handgun) and the other with a Glock, a Beretta and a CZ-75. The Glock I could take or leave, the Beretta had a truly horrible trigger. The CZ-75 (Colt 1911 knock off in 9mm ) was a thing of beauty 20 rounds 1 1/2 inch group at 20 feet. Second and third time with pistols and 20 years since I had fired any gun!

the all over stuff is from the Beretta and the Glock .

I heard a rumor some states are trying to ban .50 cals. barretts are nice but pricey and hard to find. you should check LAR out http://www.largrizzly.com/web/guest/home

They're bolt action unlike the barrett. BTW .50 bmg is about 10$ a round
