Any shooters out there?

I heard a rumor some states are trying to ban .50 cals. barretts are nice but pricey and hard to find. you should check LAR out http://www.largrizzly.com/web/guest/home

They're bolt action unlike the barrett. BTW .50 bmg is about 10$ a round

You cant buy them in Cali anymore, but if you bought one before the ban it's "grandfathered" in. Also, .50 bmg is not $10 a round. You can get it for around $4 round.

Roogers...

How do you like the Ruger Vaquero's? My dad is looking a pair just to plink around with, he has a couple black powder revolvers and wants something a little less complicated to shoot.

I have always wanted a 100ATR, but I can't find much reason to justify one. All you can use them for around here is coyotes and a late doe season which you can also use a shotgun or muzzleloader (I already have one of each). The 4x4 rifles are a neat looking gun too. I am a big fan of Mossberg, I pack a 20ga 500 for most of my deer hunting, and I just picked up a 702 Plinkster from Cabela's a couple weeks ago, I really like them both.

There are over 75,000 SASS (Single Action Shooting Society) members and at least half of them shoot Rugers both Vaquero's and Blackhawks.
I have 3 "old model" Vaquero's in polished stainless steel. The "old model" is called that because the "new model" is the same exact size as the Colt Peacemaker, the "old model" is just a hair bigger overall.
The Rugers are "bullet proof", very reliable and safe.

CalEfornia in it's "infinite wisdom" band Barret 50's because of all the liqour store robberies and drive by shootings the gang bangers were using them for so in retalliation Barret came out with the .468 (I think that's the size) to get around the ban. Actually there have been no crimes commetted with the 50 in Ca.
When the ban went into effect, Barret received a 50 from a police dept. in Ca. for repair and sent a letter to that dept. stating that Barret (by law) cannot ship 50's to Ca. any longer and someone from their police dept would have to COME AND GET IT!

poetic justice,sweet!

Got lots of Guns but the two that my wife and I find shooting the most are our .30 Carbines. I have the M1A1 folding stock paratrooper model manufactured by Postal Meter in 1942 with 6-9 power scope and my wife has an post-war Universal model with straight stocke and 6 power scope. Cheap to shoot, little recoil and with a little practice I have put 9 out of ten rounds in a five inch bullseye at 100 yards.

Never heard that story before :icon_confused: The other Barrett round is a .416 which is a bitchin' round. Outperforming the .50BMG in just about every way besides muzzle energy.

I've owned a couple of Ruger Mini-14's. Good plinking guns and the newer 580 series are somewhat improved. Had a few handguns in the past. S&W 4006, Sig P239, Browning Buckmark 5.5 Gold Target....

Right now all I have is a Sig P229 and Ruger MkIII Competition Target. Those and an old 12g that was gave to me and my grandpa's old JC Higgins 12g pump.

Was going to buy an AR varmint .223 or .308 but the 92 ranger purchase kind of got in the way....

i just recently started my own collection but my dad helped me get started ^_^

i got a 1943 russian m44 carbine (my baby)
a german 8mm mauser
a side-by-side 12ga that my grandpa put together
and my ar-17 (backpack .22)

never really been a fan of pistols, i'll stick to my bolt-action rifles

My brother just bought a brand new bushmaster AR:temper:. How do you like the sig? i was checkin one out at a local firearms store but canceled on it. im tryin to save up for a kimber.

I got the story from a TV program that included a tour of the Barrret factory AND a interview with Barret.

He also told of a female reporter he gave a tour, shooting demo, including her shooting the gun and a in depth interview. When the story came out in the paper it was a total hatchet job :pissedoff:, the reporter even claimed the rifle "could knock out a tank at over a mile".:nono:
