Im having 4wd issues and the damn polaris forums are about worthless.

My 4wd quit working on the first ride, pulled stuff apart, found metal shavings...

So i ordered new magentic plates, and new hillard hubs, put everything back togther, i get very little engagement on the left side, the right side spins all the time but can be stopped with my foot....fluid level is correct.

Any ideas?

Not really 100% certain how those work the front differential is limited slip and will only engage when the front and rear drive shafts are rotating at different speeds at least that's how they work now. I'd assume those older ones were the same, Polaris still hasn't learned to build a real 4WD.

Could be an issue with the actual differential gears themselves being damaged, like missing teeth, etc.

I think i got it narrowed to the magnetic hub coil. The magnets are grabbing but not hard enough.

Its a known problem....i wish someone would come up with a manual hub conversion
