Any one every have an engine shipped?

I found a engine for my turbo swap. Down side is it's in New York and I am in Maine.... Just wondering if anyone has had an engine shipped by by who?

Easiest thing to do is call a shipping broker.

They can help you figure it out. They have access to all types of frieght handlers. For something that small they will try to find you someone already going that way and will give you a great price.

ive heard fastenal will ship for a very reasonable price. the stipulation is that the seller has to crate/palatalize and deliver to their local fastenal store, and youll have to pick it up at your local fastenal store. shipping time is longer than a normal carrier as well, but i guess you get what you pay for, right?

Well.........

I sold a 2.3L complete engine few years back to a guy in Wisconsin. I palleted it, seran rapped it, and shipped it via R&L carriers. It was picked up at my dealership in TN and delivered to a business on his end....cost $186.

I would recommend checkin with somebody you deal with or know locally & see who they use for a carrier and ask if you could have it shipped to them by whoever they use.
