Any of you in the Army?

Dont worry about friends you'll make new ones.

I made new friends, I made a whole new family- twice. Youll create bonds that will never be broken. and you will have a lifetime of connections. Ive never met doorgunner in my life other than chatting on here, but he's my brother and if I was needed Id be there to the best of my ability. same with all the Joes on here.

Remember on tv you see two kids prick their finger and now they are blood brother? Well same concept, just more grown up. I have over 2 million brother in all walks of life, sisters too. One or two you can even sleep with LOL. but seriously.

What I recommend is just close your eyes and take the first step, go sign up and dont change your mind. and when you get scared- keep going. People are depending on you.

If you find great reward in serving your country honorably & pushing yourself past the limit & killing & dying....then the Military is for you !

I'm no helicopter mechanic but i do sling wrenches for the army as well as weild a long gun and a slingshot.

If you know your way around a truck i might suggest being a wheeled vehicle mechanic. If you are good at what you do i suggest getting certified in recovery. Track and wheel recovery has been about the highlight of my military career, especially in the theatre. If you dont like the getting shot at and ied side of things i would suggest not getting into recovery.

I wilk tell you this though, you will not find new friends in the army, you will find new family in the army. I love my job!

LOL I dont know where you went to basic but i joined the wrong service.
don't get me wrong basic was no cake walk, it was still basic military training...

There's more places in the world than Ohio, if that's what's deterring you from aviation mechanic.

If you join the military expect to move. a lot. even in the reserves. just sayin

I was in the army (Infantry 11C Mortarman). I was stationed at FT Drum NY. Well the army has its ups and downs but mostly its great for single men and women. A married soldier has more stress on him or her trying to juggle the military with family. I loved being in but hated being deployed away from my family. I was deployed twice in 4yrs and 2 months i spent almost half of my military career in IRAQ. Basic training is a mind trip. It is made to break you down and then build you back up how they see fit. If you can make it through basic then the rest of your army life will be somewhat easy. I have had some thoughts of going back in as a officer once i finished college but i will cross that bridge when it comes. if you have anymore questions, im pretty sure me and some of the other veterans can answer it.

Hoaah!

Death from above..... Gotta love the 11c's. I carried the 60mm at Ft Bragg.
