got this last night on 4lb test in canadarago lake ny. thought i had snagged some weeds at first then i noticed it was tugging. 10 minutes later i had it up to the boat but it broke through the net. fought it for another 5 mins and finally got it tangled up in the net enough to land it. 28.5 inches long and 14lbs 1 ounce. oh for a size reference im 6'4 and weigh 294

I don't, but my dad does. We have one mounted on our living room wall, it weighs 10lbs 12 oz... he goes up to Canada/Minnesota every year with some other guys to fish, they usually bring back quite a few fish.

ive got some friends that go to canada as well every year. their biggest up there was 11lbs 7 ounces. this was 25 miles from home

im pretty sure if ny went by line weight for the records it would be #1 for 4lb line

You kinda fit your username, but you probably already knew that. After looking at that second picture, I'd have to suggest you probably go check your state's laws before getting to know him any better...

I go up to Lac Des Milles Lac in Ontario for a week every year and have for the past 35 years. Just got back in fact.

We haven't caught one as big as yours for a number of years, but used to catch them regularly. Slot limit now. Over the past 10 years or so we throw all the big ones back - Northerns and Walleyes - they don't eat as well as the smaller 2-3 pounders.

That's a very nice fish. You going to eat it, or mount it? Walleye is one of the best eating fish there is. A great way to prepare them is to bread them with a product called "Shore Lunch" using a mix of 1/2 Original and 1/2 Cajun (http://www.shorelunch.com/Breadings.aspx).

We also fish for Northerns. I caught a 13 pounder this year with a 4 pound test line. With your Walleye I'll bet you did the same thing most do - myself included - once hooked. Checked your drag, thinking you set way too light and once the fish makes a run and your drag is set normal, you know you've something special on the line.

i adjusted my drag about 20 times until i saw how big the bastard was. its 2lbs 8 ounces less than the state record. its going to get made into a lamp after i find the right piece of driftwood. looking for a nice little stump or something. going ot have a 24x24inch oak base with gravel and the stump with the walleye in front of it chasing my 14 inch perch ive got and then a lamp on top. or maybe ill do a glass enclosed coffee table with him chasing my perch.

I don't fish for walleye but I sure do like to eat them.

found out my scale is a piece of shit. i used it to weigh a perch that read at 5lbs. i got a new scale and found my walleye is 12lbs 3 oz.

Real nice looking fish! I used to fish a lot but my doctor made me quit, said it was runing my liver (this is Wisconsin you might guess)

Never caught a walleye. Dont even know if they have them in tennessee. How you go about it? Thats an awesome fish, congrats.

i catch most of mine by accident but when i do go after them i usually go to the bottom with a crawler harness or a leech on a jig or a minnow on a jig.

they have walleye all the way down to texas i believe.

May have to try that in the deeper parts the lake where I live at, or can actually get to, to fish is relatively shallow.
