Any new firearm purchases?

You can get kits to run .22 in a .223 if you wanted to as well.

CMMG is one of them. I think it's the most common one that I've seen.

You can, and it is. Several companies offer the same design conversion kit and it works well. However...

From a current BRD sufferer, to a future BRD sufferer, just buy a second upper (or rifle). You're eventually going to get tired of the work involved, swapping between the adapter and bolt, adjusting sights, carrying estra parts and tool to swap at range, etc. Then you will either want a complete second upper, or will stop using the adapter all together. If you have the adapter sitting around unused, you're going to start getting ideas to build it into a standalone upper so you can use the alternate caliber, but don't have all the extra steps involved, just pop two pins and swap.

Spare BR parts have a bad habbit of growing into spare BRs. Don't ask how I know...

I'll second the Sears branded 94s. That's what my 30-30 lever is, Sears Ted Williams Model 100. Impossible to identify the date on the sears guns, but it is definitely a post-64 model 94. Was actually a freebie. Back in the late-90s / early-00s dad was doing some side work for instructors at the tech school he was going to. Making firends getting flying lessons, etc. One of them gave him the 30-30 to pass to me. The foreend furniture looks slightly different, it has a cap instead of a barrel band. but I intend to see if the regular 94 parts will actually fit someday. (About 95 positive they will.) Since it doesn;t carry the value of an actual 94, don;t mind using it and modifying it to how I want. Thinking about sending it off to be fullt refinished with a matte/satin black cerakote, then installing a Boyd's Pepper Laminate stock. Fancy it up a little bit while also giving it some better weather protection.

Never had my hands on a 336, so can't speak to them. I have got the other Ruger lever action. Brought dad's Ruger 96/44 to take to the range when I'm shooting the new SBH and the Taurus Tracker 44. It's a pretty dang good shooter. I'd rather have another model 94 in 44, but good luck finding that at a price/condition that I'm willing to purchase. I probably shouldn't be fussing about price though. I recently found out that Henry makes 2 Eagle Scout Tribute rifles. I already knew about the 22 and wanted to get one someday, but just found out that they also have a 44 version and now I want it too. When/if it happens, that is probably going to make a Model 94 44 look reasonable.
My first gun was a used Sear's Ted Williams Edition model 100. Bought it on my 18th birthday and killed a deer with it same year. Love that gun. I have a soft spot for em.

I chose to just get another complete, dedicated rifle. Not only for cheaper range time, but to train others in the manual of arms and remove any intimidation they feel with the higher powered cartridge. Almost every firearm I have has a 22lr equivelant for that reason.
