There won't likely be any mods to this one.You know that they make a fairly cheap brrrt sear for those right? Videos I've seen on youtube look fun. Expensive, but fun. While I'll readily agree that the best gun/caliber for self defense is the one you're comfortabler shooting, I'm never a proponent of .22lr for that purpose. That said, there's probably a case to be argued for putting a bunch of .22lr into something very rapidly.
While I haven't shot it, dad had one of the TX 22s and seemed to like it. Want to say that his has the regular slide with optic mount, instead of the competition slide, but it also has the threaded barrel. It's probably my sister's now if whe wants it, if she doesn't I might have to get it and the afore mentioned accessory for playing with at the private range.
A couple guys at the local gun counters have this one and love them. There has never been one in the gun case to handle though... they sell as soon as they get a couple in. So this one we will all get to handle it and shoot it at the range. I think I want one... and if the wife likes it... she may get one too. For my daughter and the wife... I hope its a stepping stone into a 9mm. But maybe not. With it being the most affordable to shoot... low recoil... I'm hoping it will build confidence and they can become accurate and comfortable with it.
