So is there any benefit flex wise to flipping the thick overload leaf upside down on Skyjackers leaves? Is there any down side? I think I want to try it and see, but a few opinions first may help with my decision, thanks!

I honestly dont think it will benefit you any, by the pictures, the 'overload' actually contacts the rest of the pack at ride height. You may lose a little ride height. Just my opinion. I know when I built my leaf pack, I had to take it apart a couple times to add/subtract leaves to get it how I wanted.

Cheers

IMHO... Those are std springs design, maybe you get lift but no overload leafs, the lower leaf is part of it.
Flipping them over, I see no gain.

Alright perfect thats what I needed to know, Thanks!

The gain would be more uptravel. However I wouldn't flip those over, they're too curved and then wouldn't touch the spring at all (allowing more axle wrap, along with fatiguing of the leaves at the spring perch).

What I did with mine was substitute the flatter OL leaves from my stock springs for the SJ OL. This allowed more uptravel but without removing all the support from the rest of the pack.

The bottom leaf really doesn't contact the leaf above it, so I don't think I'll loose any lift height, and if I did I don't care to much anyway as it already sits a little taller in the back anyway.

When I get the time I'll swap in my old original overloads from the stock leaf pack which are completely flat.....And see what that does for me.

Logically it seems like it may ride a little better with this combo as well too cuz the axle will be able to "move up" more freely before the overload contacts, where now it [the axle] barely moves up a quarter of an inch and that bottom leaf is in full contact along its length with the leaf above it....

Ah the joys of tinkering and trying to get everything just like I want it. The rear suspension is so close to being done.....rear brake line, bumpstops and Bilsteins ordered and on the way.

Then on to the front suspension hopefully.
