Any advice on how to bypass a/c from turning on during heat modes?

My favorite solution is just keep the pedal on the floor. The wide open throttle (WOT ) relay will keep the A/C off.

Yes I recall on old Saabs in the user book it said run a/c periodically in the winter for just that reason. Suspect at that time they were not running defrost thru it, which would seem weird considering where they were made (most of them anyway) but there it is. Off-topic, but it also occurred to me that they had turbos early on, probably some of the first, if not the first, and they said when you stop, idle for about a minute to let it cool down. They did get hot, I remember if I ran out of matches I'd run the turbo a bit then stop at a rest area, open the hood, and light a cig on it. Fun times.

AdjustableTemperatureSwitch, mounted under the Hood, set at roughly 50f\10c or so,
with CapillaryBulb located behind Grille, NormallyClosed contact in series with ACClutch;
could be a solution to automaticly prevent ACCompressor from engaging in cooler weather.

Fords already have something like that built in. An override toggle switch is cheaper.
