I managed to get another project that I did NOT need...especially since the Ranger needs a new C4.
The new toy is a 1988 Thunderbird w/ 5.0L, AOD and 8.8" rear. Only mods are true duals and ARE wheels...very dated early '90's style. It pulls smooth, rides nice and is overall in VERY, VERY nice condition.
Mods planned are minimal...mainly the rear...4.10's for sure and a posi (if not already equipped). I'm getting it on Tuesday so I'll figure that out when I get it home.
But...my query...how close is this basic platform to comparable year Mustangs? Meaning suspension, sway bars, trailing arms, etc. I'd like to drop it an inch or so and make it handle.
Then the motor...how do they take to bolt on mods? Is the computer able to deal with basic bolt ons?
This will be the wife's ride until I can find a convertible Mustang for her.....but the condition of the early '90's cars around here is pretty piss poor!
BTW...I did look for a T-bird forum but found nothing that looked any good!!
