my truck was recently stolen and i got a call from wsp it was recovered a few hunnert miles away. now problem is i had to pay a couple a hunnert dollers and have a lcksmith make a new key for it an i cant get the antitheft light to stop flashing it will crank over but not start. any advice is wellcome so i can get home thanks

What year is the truck?

Is it a Ford anti-theft system?

Ford started using PATS(passive anti-theft system) on some late '90's models.
PATS keys have an RFID tag inside them with a embedded serial number, the computer has a sensor near the ignition key slot to read the tag.
When you try to start the engine the Key's imbedded serial number is read by the computer, if there is no serial number or the serial number is not on the computers "OK" list then truck won't start, it won't crank either.
Any Locksmith would know this, and most have a laptop computer with software that can program new serial numbers into the computer.

You may have an after market or dealer installed system, these may disable the fuel pump, so engine cranks but won't start.
If this is the case then you will need to find the anti-theft module(usually under the dash board) and contact that company to find the method to dis-arm it.

But how did the thief steal it if it doesn't start?

Early PATS systems were fuel system disable. All of the 90s ones, and most of the ones found on 5-lug F-150s would allow the engine to crank but you get no fuel or spark.
