antifreeze leak

I think I know what my problem is just need another opion.I have a 2000 Ranger with the 4.0 engine.Leaks real bad underneath looks like between the engine and bell housing.I rrally cant see the top or back of the motor.Its all dry on top.And it only leaks when running.Once shut off its fine.Thought it maybe a freeze plug or lower intake gasket but I dont think its a freeze plug becuase it only leaks when running.What do you think?

Maybe with a small mirror you could see behind there.

one thing that helps a lot go to Autozone and rent a coolant pressure tester. I been able to find leaks really fast a real time saver.

PS make sure you have the right adapter for your truck you might have to rent the adapter too. the kit i rented came with one adapter that does not fit the newer rangers

Yeah I Am going to try and get in there to see but if it wad a freeze plug wouldnt it leak when its off too? This thing drips really a lot but only while running.

I would probably say you have an intake gasket leak.

My 2.3L has been doing the same thing, leaking antifreeze while running, but not when off. I recently had my thermostat changed and I think it might be that. I can't get to my thermostat unless I take the fan, serp belt and stuff off.

Thermostat is my first thought, but my second thought would to check your hoses while its running. squeeze 'em! your clamps on your hoses might be loose or something, but that wouldn't explain why it's only leaking when its running.
