anti theft engaged HELP

well i had the smart idea to replace my stock radio witha jvc aftermarket radio...i cut the wires from the old harness and set off anti theft....is there a way to reset this or do i have to carry it to ford dealership to have it fixed..HELP!!!!

Did you set off the radio anti-theft or the immobilization system?

If you set off the PATS system you may have cut the wrong wire. Let it sit overnight and try again in the morning.

im not sure...all i know is that everything comes on and you can here the fuel pump turn on and send fuel to the engine but when you turn the key over to try and crank it....it want do anything and the theft light is not blinking if that helps any....i have tryed taking off the battery cable and reseting it but still nothing

Check the fuses. You might have popped one. 19 and 28 under the dash I think.

i checked them today and all of them have currnt flowing except a 20 amp and i replaced it and still nothing.....somebody at oreily told me i messed up the anti theft when i cut the power wire for the radio

And by that logic just unplugging the radio should trip the PATS system, but it doesn't. The radio isn't even connected to the anti-theft.

I'm still betting that you caught a wire you shouldn't have by accident.

well i cut all the wires off of the harness and trigered something i hooked all the wires back together that were cut and still nothing....is there a way to reset radio antitheft system

Well, first you'd have to design, produce, install, write, and then read the instructions for a a radio anti-theft system.

did you cut all the wires at once? these days you should not have to cut the harness to replace the radio, they sell plug in adapters that fit the stock harness...

yea i cut them all at once.......i think i set off the radio anti theft....is there a way to reset it without carrying it ti ford dealer??

pull your battery, wait an hour, connect it back up. try that.

b/c if adsm says there ain't, i'm pretty dang sure there ain't one... i'll take his word over probably everyone on here..

second, why on earth did you cut any wires? you should have bought the adapter harness. makes things cleaner/safer/easier/better... personally if i was you; i'd solder everything back up to the stock harness then get the adapter....

the radio shouldnt, the truck does. 01+ have the same kind i do. reset your computer by taking all power away for an hour. gotta let all battery even the airbag reserve die. re connect and it should start.

No, there is no anti theft on the radio, or anything to do with it. Only the PATS system.
