Anti-freeze in heating hoses

I always had a problem on my 89 BII of the heater cores leaking at the intake/output pipe welds.

Ford does seem to have a tough time with radiators and heater cores. The explorer rads are always leaking and there is a TSB that covers basically every car from 05 up about heater core leakage.

The core I put in my 90 didnt have welds. Im pretty sure they were o-ringed, and then pressed in and then they folded over some of the housing metal to "lock" the pipes into place. They would move around a little as I was putting the hoses back on. I even took it back out to make sure I didnt over bend anything on accident. Hasnt leaked in a couple years, so must be OK!
