I just discovered i have antifreeze in my heater hoses coming off my engine( at least i think thats what they are) and its dripping out of my vent fan. what can i do about it, if there is anything. Thanks

Um...hmm.

You know that your heater is heated by the engines' coolant, right? The antifreeze is supposed to be there.... :icon_thumby:

If its leaking in the cab, your heater core or the hoses going to it are leaking

its dripping off the vent fan that pushes air through my cab in the the engine bay.

Check your passenger seat carpet. If your heater core is leaking, it usually pools in the passenger seat footwell.

If its dripping off the fan motor, then your leak might be RIGHT AT the heater core fittings going into the cab, and then dripping down onto the fan motor.

You may need to get the engine up to full temp, then open the hood and see if its actively dripping from somewhere. At full engine temp, your coolant system will be near 15psi of pressure, and that could open up a pinhole, or force fluid past a small leak that a cold engine wouldnt.

But yeah, my money is on heater core. Easy to change.

i found coolant in my heater hoses too.... i just shoved some kitty litter in the hose and it took care of the problem....

JK! JK! JK!

man......it's July. Why would anyone want to use a heater?

well its the heater core. and i noticed it because i was dropping massive amounts of anti-freeze on the ground. not because i was running the heater.
