I am installing a mild amp with new (4) Pioneer speakers in stock locations, nothing fancy. I have an aftermarket head unit curently in the truck that someone else installed years ago. I am using RCA cables to connect to the amp and ran all new speaker wire from the amp to the stock speaker locations to power the new Pioneers. I planned on just leaving the stock speaker wiring intact / unused rather than ripping it out. Is this OK as long as there are no speakers attached to them? Will this cause any problems having the factory speaker wires still in there as part of the harness, but with no speakers? I cannot see a problem, but wanted to get feedback to be sure. Thanks in advance!

Added: I do not know if the truck has a factory amp somewhere and if yes, whether it was ever hooked up with the new head unit install years ago. I am thinking no since the reason I am doing this is because the stereo is not loud enough to hear with the windows open.

the oem wires are ok, but i would end them with electrical tape. cause there still can be power running to them and you can blow your HU
