Ok, I'm really new to this and I've been searching for the past couple of days and cannot find an exact answer.
I have a 87 ranger 2wd and I was thinking about purchasing some f150 coilspacers. I believe these will work for my truck, I will just need to extend the bolt that holds them. This truck will not ever see any heavy offroading. Mainly for looks and some light trail riding.
My question is, will the stock shock be ok for this lift? Or do I need a shock with more travel. I've been trying to find a shock that would give me the right amount of travel but I haven't really found anything. I've have seen that people have used 93 f150 4wd shocks but those seem to only work on the later model rangers due to differences with the lower mount. A 2wd f150 has the same shock mount and ~3/4 more travel and compression.
From what I've found, 4wd and 2wd of my same year ranger use the same shock. So I might be ok. I just figured I'd ask before I went out and bought everything.
Thanks in advance.
