Another rookie A/C question...sorry

A/c systems go right under transmissions on my list of "I'm not effin' with that!" With that said, sorry if all this seems redundant.

I've noticed lately that my compressor clutch has been engaging/disengaging more frequently than normal and the sound has gotten considerably louder. The other thing I've noticed is that the compressor has been putting a lot more load on my engine when the A/C is on. The increase in felt load has been quite substantial IMO. It's bad enough that after about 5 minutes, I say screw it and turn the A/C off and roll the windows down so I can enjoy some of that NC humidity.

Anyways, is this a sign that my compressor clutch or compressor may be going soon? FWIW...the A/C still blows cold and the truck has 213,000 miles on it and the A/C system has never been touched.

Just give it a small shot of refrigerant and your problems will be solved.

x2. Its either low on freon or its not reading your TPS. Most likely the first one.
