Another "My 4 wheel drive doesn't work" thread!

1995 Mazda B3000, MT, Auto hubs

Both 4lo & 4hi lights illuminate when selected and an audible click is heard but front wheels do not turn.

I have checked all fuses and removed cleaned the xfer case motor connector.

I jacked the front with vehicle turned off and in 4lo, I can turn the front drive shaft by hand in both directions and front axles turn freely but wheels do not.

My questions are:

1) Do I have Vacuum hubs? (I cannot see a vacuum line going to them. Only a brake line and ABS line)

2) I suspect the hubs are the problem?????

3) If so, what breaks in the hubs if I don't have the vacuum pulse sys?

4) How do I fix them without going to manual? (I know, manual is way better but this vehicle is my daughters and she doesn't want to deal with manual)

If u have it in 4 wheel drive u should not b able to turn the front drive shaft without the rear turning too. So if you only have the front jacked up it should not turn. Also u do not have vacume hubs they just lock in when the axles turn. So is look into the transfer case more it sounds like the shift motor is working. Maybe pull the shift motor off and inspect it. U can turn it by hand with a wrench or vise grips . Hope this helps
